I have studied up to 12th standard and I want to continue my education. I had filled out some forms to pursue further studies, but due to my family's poor financial condition, I had to take a break from my studies. During that time, I did a 3-month tailoring course. After that, I went to my village, and when I returned, I joined a center in Santacruz where women work. My mother used to work there too. It took me around 2 to 3 months to learn all the patterns and techniques. If we didn’t understand something, an uncle there would teach us. I started liking the work, and now I can make all kinds of bags and other items. Currently, I earn around ₹6,000 to ₹7,000 per month. With that salary, I help at home, use it for my own studies, and I also contributed to my brother’s education.

I have been working here for the past 3 years. I have completed my post-graduation, but before joining here, I was a housewife. I had some basic knowledge of stitching, which motivated me to take up this opportunity. It feels good to be working here.
We make different types of bags, and I truly enjoy the work we do. I have two daughters who are studying, and this job helps me support their education. I earn around ₹7,000 to ₹8,000 per month, which contributes to my family’s needs. Along with earning, we also enjoy working together as a team.

I got married when I was 22 years old. Before marriage, I used to do stitching work. I studied up to 12th standard, but couldn’t continue my education because of poor family conditions. Then I got married and moved to Mumbai with my husband.
Later, I felt that if I worked alongside my husband, our financial situation would improve. I also want to give my daughter the best possible education, so I started working too. I began to enjoy working and started earning a good amount. Now I earn around ₹6,000 to ₹7,000 per month. I come here to work, and I really enjoy it.

I am a housewife. Earlier, I used to stitch blouses at home, but the income was not enough to support my household expenses. Then, I came to know about this centre where many women work, so I decided to join.
I started learning new skills, making different products, and gradually began earning. Now, I am able to support my family and my children’s education. It feels very nice to work here. I believe there are struggles in life, but with hard work and determination, I can overcome them. That is my belief and my strength.

I have been working here for the past two years. Whatever salary I earn from here, I use it for my education and also to support my household expenses.
My journey began with the decision that I always wanted to manage my educational and personal expenses on my own. However, my family did not allow me to work anywhere. Then I came to know that there is an organization in Santacruz, in my own area, that provides work to women. So I came here and explained my family situation to uncle, and I started working here. And just like that, it’s already been two years.
I want to continue my education further and pursue a course in fashion designing. I also love stitching and enjoy making different types of bags and other creative items.
