Threads & People
A first-of-its-kind upcycling initiative by UNIREC, Project Sundri breathes new life into worn garments and forgotten fabric, transforming them into beautiful, functional products. But beyond the thread and needle lies a deeper purpose: to honor the hands that craft, the stories that linger, and the planet we all call home.
Project Sundri is more than just a sustainable initiative — it is a living, breathing ode to transformation & the people of UNIREC.

A memory rewoven into a mission
"Not all that is past is forgotten; not all that is future is distant" - This movement began with one woman — founder Kapil Bhatia’s grandmother, Sundri Bhatia. A visionary woman, a maker, a magician with scraps. She saw beauty where others saw discarded remains. She stitched old clothes into new creations, not out of necessity alone, but out of love, creativity, and care. Today, her spirit lives on through the artisans of Project Sundri, who carry her legacy forward — one empowered life, one upcycled product, one act of grace at a time.
